Episode 2:
The First Step Changes Everything
What if the only thing standing between you and your next level… is your first step?
In this episode Lynada Marshae continues the conversation from Episode 1, challenging you to move beyond hesitation and step into action.
So many of us spend time thinking, planning, and waiting for the “right” moment but the truth is, your life doesn’t change when you decide… it changes when you move.
Through powerful biblical examples and real-life reflection, this episode will help you understand why God doesn’t always reveal the full plan and how faith requires movement even when you don’t have all the answers.
If you’ve been waiting for clarity, confidence, or perfect timing, this episode will push you to trust God in the process and take that next step.
Because the first step… changes everything.

Hello, everyone, and welcome back to Elevate Your Confidence Podcast. I'm your host, your girl, Lenata Marche. Listen, if this is your very first time listening, welcome to the podcast. I'm so glad that you're here. And if you were here for the very first episode, I am so grateful and thankful that you have come back for episode two. You're in for a treat. Listen, this podcast is all about helping you grow into your faith. It's about helping you build your confidence and really stepping boldly into the life and the purpose that God has given you. Okay. This is the podcast where faith meets confidence and fear has absolutely no place on our journey to purpose. So thank you, thank you, thank you for listening on today. Look, before we go any further, I have to pause and say thank you. Thank you, thank you, thank you. To everyone who listened to episode one, if you shared it, if you sent me a message, if you reposted it, the response was so overwhelming. Thank you, thank you, thank you. And overwhelming in a good way. So many of you reached out and said that the episode spoke directly to you, or that you've been sitting on something for years and the message really pushed you. And that right there is why I'm doing this. The testimonials are amazing. It just like I really have no words. Thank you. Like I can't say thank you enough. Thank you. Thank you. Thank you. And lastly, I know episode two took a little longer than expected. Your girl had some technical issues, and I had to figure some things out on the back end. But we are back. We are locked in and we are continuing.
SPEAKER_00For every woman ready to say to believe in herself, let it go fear down and purpose for the life galaxy.
SPEAKER_02And today's episode is entitled The First Step Changes Everything. Yep, you heard it right. The first step changes everything. And I want you to really hear that because this is where so many people get stuck. This is where I got stuck. I didn't get stuck in dreaming about it. I didn't get stuck in thinking about it. I even didn't get stuck in deciding. I got stuck in starting. Because it's one thing to recognize what you've been waiting on, but it's a whole nother thing to actually move on that thing. And that's what we're talking about today. That's what we're talking about today. So, you know, let me tell you something. Your life does not change when you decide. Your life changes when you move. And you can decide all day long that, oh, I'm gonna start tomorrow. I'm gonna do better. I'm gonna step into what the Lord has called me to do. But until you move, nothing is going to change. Absolutely nothing. Psalms 119, 105 says, Your word is a lamp unto my feet and a light unto my path. This verse does not say a spotlight, it says a lamp. And a lamp only shows you what's right in front of you. A lamp doesn't show you the entire road. It only shows you that space that's right in front of you. And somehow, sometimes that's how God operates in our lives. He gives us the next step and not the full plan. He gives us that next move to make and not the full blueprint. Some of you are waiting on clarity, but God is waiting on movement. Let's talk about Abraham for a moment. In Genesis 12, God speaks to Abraham and he tells Abraham, he says, Go from your country, your people, and your father's house land to the land I will show you. Now think about that for a second. God told him to leave everything familiar, everything comfortable, everything that he knew, but he did not tell him where he was going. He didn't give him a map. He didn't give Abraham a timeline. He didn't explain how everything was going to work out. He simply said, Go to the land I will show you. Meaning, I'm not going to show you everything up front. I'm going to reveal it as you move. As you're obedient, I'm going to give, I'm going to reveal things to you. And some of you are saying, God, show me everything and then I'll go. And God is saying, Go and then I'll show you. Go and I'll lead the way. And that's where faith comes in. That's where faith comes in. Faith is not having all of the answers.
SPEAKER_01Faith is moving without having all of the answers. And the first step will feel uncomfortable. It will.
SPEAKER_02The first step will feel uncomfortable. Because the moment you decide to move, that's when fear shows up. That's when fear shows up. And the Bible tells us in 2 Timothy 1 and 7, God has not given us the spirit of fear, but of power, love, and a sound mind. Now let's break that down. God gave you power. That means you already have the strength you need. You're not weak. You're not incapable. God gave you love. That means you don't have to live bound by people's opinion. God gave you a sound mind. That means clarity. That means discipline. That means you are not controlled by fear.
SPEAKER_01So if fear is speaking, that's not God.
SPEAKER_02That's not God. And sometimes fear gets loud when you get serious. When you get serious about a thing, fear gets even louder. The moment you go from I'm thinking about doing it to I'm actually about to do it. Fear shows up. Fear shows up. What does fear sound like, Lenata? What if I fall? What if I fail? What if people what will people think? What if nobody supports me? But hear me clearly. Fear is not always a warning.
SPEAKER_01Sometimes fear is confrontation, confirmation.
SPEAKER_02Sometimes fear is confirmation because you're stepping into something that matters, something that has purpose, something that requires growth. Fear doesn't mean stop.
SPEAKER_01Fear actually means you're getting close.
SPEAKER_02Yeah, you're getting close. And let me be honest, this podcast, I sat on it for months. The Lord gave me the idea, He gave me the vision, He began giving me messages, but I kept saying, I'm not ready. And then once I started moving, I still began to say, This isn't, it doesn't sound right. It's not perfect, it has to be perfect. And at one point the Lord checked me. He told me, How long are you going to sit on what I gave you? And when I finally released episode one, there was a shift. I felt it. There was a shift. And not because it was perfect, because it definitely wasn't, but because I moved. I moved. Let's talk about Peter for a second. In Matthew 14, the disciples are on the boat during a storm. You know the story. Jesus comes walking on the water, and Peter says, Lord, if it's really you, tell me to come. And Jesus said, Come. And now Peter had a decision to make. Peter had to decide to either stay in the boat or step out. For Peter, the boat was safe. And that's how it is for us sometimes. Where we are, it's safe. Where we are, it's familiar. Where we are, it's comfortable. But when Peter stepped outside the boat, that's when everything supernatural happened. Everything supernatural happened outside the boat. And the moment Peter stepped out, he walked on water. The miracle didn't happen in the boat.
SPEAKER_01The miracle happened in the step. The miracle happened in the step for Peter.
SPEAKER_02Confidence sometimes comes after you make that move. Confidence is not something that you wait for. You have to build your confidence. Confidence is something that you build. Every single time you decide to show up, you're building confidence. Every single time you decide to try, you're building confidence. Every single time you push past fear, you're building confidence.
SPEAKER_01And over time, your confidence is building.
SPEAKER_02You're building your confidence. So many times we feed ourselves lies saying that we're behind, that we're late, we're not qualified. But at the end of the day, it's you. You have a decision to make. Will you keep sitting or will you take that step? Will you keep sitting or will you make that next move? Because if I'm real with you, your next level is waiting on your movement. Your next level is waiting on your movement. So listen, this I'm gonna leave you with this. I want you to always remember you don't need the whole plan. You just need the courage to take the first step. You just need the courage to make the first move. Because the first step changes everything. Let's pray. Father God, in the name of Jesus, I thank you for every person listening to this podcast. Father, you know what you've placed on the inside of them and you know the dreams, you know you've given them the ideas, you've given them the calling, and you have also know what they're afraid of, you know the fear that keeps them bound. But today, Father, I pray for boldness. Father, give them the courage to take the first step, even when they don't feel like it, even if they don't have all of the things figured out, even if the situations aren't perfect, Father. Father, remind them that you are with them, that you are guiding them, that you're leading them, Father, that they don't need the whole plan, they don't need the full blueprint. All they need is to make the first step, make the first move. Father, in the name of Jesus, we break fear off of your people, Father. We break hesitation, oh God. We bind up the spirit of overthinking and Father, and we replace it with your love. We replace it with your faith. We replace it with action. And so, Father, we thank you in advance for what you're gonna do, for what you're gonna make happen, Father. I thank you, Lord God, that as people are listening to this podcast, that Father, something is stirred up on the inside of them that's causing them to move, that's causing them to shift, oh God, into place, that's causing them to shift into their assignment. So, Father, again, I thank you in advance for what's gonna take place. I thank you for the testimonies that's gonna be shared. We love you, Lord God. In Jesus' name, amen.
